DAVID LESLIE HUGHES B.ARCH (HONS) RIBA

A native of Dyffryn Nantlle, David Les gained his honours degree in Architecture at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff, in 1971 and become a member of the RIBA in 1973. He commenced his professional architectural career in South Wales and gained valuable experience in the design of sports and leisure facilities whilst working for the Williamson Partnership.

Later he entered local government and had the opportunity to learn the administrative and management tasks of a local authority officer before joining the Ap Thomas Partnership in 1979.

Although now experienced in residential, commercial and refurbishment works, his continued involvement and interest in the design of leisure facilities has helped the practice to become recognised for their expertise in the design of a variety of leisure and sporting facilities. 

 
 ALUN MEIRION JONES B.Sc, B.ARCH RIBA

Brought up in the building industry as a son of a local building contractor, Alun Meirion gained valuable practical knowledge which has served him well in his profession.

Educated at Ysgol Glan y Mor, Pwllheli, he then attended The Welsh School of Architecture at Cardiff University and gained his BSc in 1981 under the guidance and influence of the late Professor Dewi Prys Thomas.

His year out experience was gained with the Mersey Health authority working on various refurbishment and new built project before returning to University to gain his B.Arch in 1983.

Following a short period working in Cardiff, Alun a fluent Welsh speaker, returned to Gwynedd and had been an employee with the Ap Thomas Partnership for ten years before becoming a partner in 1993.

Working on various interesting projects and coupled with his background in the building industry, Alun has a wide all round knowledge of the Profession and gained his full membership of the RIBA in 1993.
