The Ap Thomas cyf is located in an area of the country which is full of scheduled ancient monuments, listed buildings and conservation areas and a substantial part of the workload involves buildings of special architectural character in areas of historic interest, many of which are also within the Snowdonia National Park.
The Partnership is therefore very aware of the additional planning constraints that apply to these structures and over the years it has developed a good working relationship with the officers in the local planning authorities, as well as those in CADW – the Welsh Assembly Government’s historic environment service.
The Partnership can also assist with the submission of applications for financial assistance for eligible works on historic buildings.

The partners accept that on most community projects meetings have to be held in the evenings and that members of the organisation – and the public in certain projects - need to be informed of the development of the progress of the project. Reports and illustrations to meet the needs can be prepared in English and in Welsh if required.
